Kari and Cameron's wedding was a day filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their journey to the altar was as unique as the couple themselves, and it was a privilege to be part of their special day. Here’s a glimpse into their beautiful celebration.

The Venue

The couple chose a picturesque venue that perfectly captured their elegant and warm personalities. Nestled quietly on the outskirts of the bustling city of Houston with scenic surroundings, Briscoe Manor was a dream for both photography and cinematography. Though we arrived early to set up our equipment and connect with their wedding day planner. The rolling green pastures and chic chapel backdrop provided the perfect canvas for the day’s festivities. The weather was definitely “Texas Hot” kind of weather with it taking place in August the temps easily soared to triple digits. We opted to keep the couple inside for the majority of the day in an effort to preserve them for the day ahead. Despite all the gorgeous vignettes of this venue we didn’t get to venture outside as the couple preferred to avoid the heat for the various portrait moments.

Getting Ready

Kari was a vision of calm and grace in her bridal suite. Surrounded by her closest friends and family, she prepared for the big day with laughter and a touch of nostalgia. The details of her gown, jewelry, and bouquet were beautifully captured to preserve the magic of the morning. These details photos are some of my favorite things to capture on the wedding day outside of the most authentic and genuine moments of the day. Meanwhile, Cameron got ready in a nearby suite, supported by his groomsmen and a spirit of joyful anticipation.

The First Look and Ceremony

Kari and Cameron shared a touching “first touch” moment, a private and intimate exchange that set the tone for the rest of the day. The raw and sweet emotions of this moment were truly touching and their private prayer was certainly one we will remember. The ceremony followed, with a mix of heartfelt vows and a few moments of humor. The couple’s love and commitment to each other were evident in every word and glance they exchanged at the altar.

Despite some challenges with lighting, we managed to capture the essence of their ceremony. The natural light played hide-and-seek, but the emotion on their faces was radiant and told the story beautifully.

After the ceremony, we moved into the family portraits followed by the wedding party and couples portraits. The bride’s elegance and the groom’s charm were a photographer’s dream, and their connection shone through in every frame.

The Reception

The reception was an extension of Kari and Cameron’s personalities—joyful and full of surprises. From the grand entrance to the emotional first dances with their parents, every moment was infused with love.

Though a delay in catering shifted the timeline, the couple embraced the moment, allowing guests to mingle and enjoy the setting. The DJ was fantastic all night and kept the dance floor going for hours!

Highlights of the evening included their first dance with “dancing on a cloud” which made for the most picturesque moments. The late night snack was a huge hit as all their guests got to take a snack on the road after dancing the night away.

Behind the Scenes

One of the unique aspects of this wedding was the dedication to capturing every detail. Jay used multiple cameras for the ceremony and even mic’d the officiant when she opted for a more natural delivery without the microphone. Drone footage highlighted the stunning venue, and Misty’s creative direction brought out the best in family and couple portraits.
